Lightmaker Sphyrna-class Hammerhead Corvette – Battle of Scarif from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Ok, to start with, this is a little bit of a different post than usual, so if you’re not into LEGO, feel free to ignore me.
From the first time I saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, I was immediately enamored of the Hammer Head Corvette. You remember, the one that rams an Imperial Star Destroyer and crashes it into another Star Destroyer and then the shield generator on Scarif. I’ve been waiting for 8 years for LEGO to release an official set for this incredible starship, but when yet another May the 4th can’t and went without one, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Using the digital workshop on MecaBricks.com, over the last several months, I painstakingly developed this set – going semi-viral on the r/lego subreddit in the process for my fully continuous vertical cylindrical section component build.
I learned a lot about LEGO design in the process. Techniques such as SNOT (Studs Not On Top), Offsetting, Striping, and Stud Reversal.
So without further adieu, here is the IORS LEGO MOC (of yeah, that stands for My Own Creation)
You can export a parts list from MecaBricks if you want to build it yourself
This was a fun excursion, please comment if you like this and want more, or if you’re more like, this is stupid, why is the rocket scientist wasting time building virtual LEGO sets, get back to the Back to the Future re-setting.
